The Great Western Woodlands are home to a fifth of Australia's known flora, but the local shire wants to investigate clearing parts of it for agriculture. The Shire of Esperance says it's very early days but conservation groups have documents showing the WA Cabinet and government departments have already been briefed on the idea.
